For a photo job I went to Lisbon Portugal. I went three days and wanted to travel light.
The job was photographing a big event of a great company. Challenge: low light, bad colored light, locations are big area’s, so you like to have wide angled and zoomed photos.
To go for save I took my Nikon D800 with me and the Nikkor 24-70mm 2.8 .
Second camera I took my Fuji Film X-e2 and the new (for me) Fujinon 55-140mm 2.8. and the 16-55mm 2.8.
For a week I had the opportunity to use the Kipon Lens Mount Adapter on my Fujifilm X-E2. Therefore I updated the latest firmware Ver. 2.00. A very helpful update in this case is the “Selectable colors in Focus Peak Highlight”.
Having the Kipon Lens Mount Adapter on your Fuji, your are able to mount old aperture ring lenses. I’ve tested my Nikon 50mm f/1.4 AI-S.
The Digital Split Image or Focus Peak Highlight are very useful as manual focusing assistant.
IMPORTANT Note: Just keep actual with those firmware. I was a couple versions behind. So new dance performance to test.
This must be said. Fujifilm is doing a great job on developing mirror less camera’s. But it feels like spam, with al those X-series. In less than 3 years, you have: X-Pro1, X-10, X20, X100, X100s, X-A1, X-M1, X-E1, X-E2, X-T1.
I have to buy camera’s, so I can’t test them all. On Facebook and blogs your mind will explode reading experience of photographers, who can test all those different x-types. They are all very pleased with the X-Pro1. When the X100s, is on the market, everybody loves that one. When the X-E2 is on the market everybody loves that one, after that, they are very happy with the X-M1 and the latest hype is the Fujifilm X-T1.. It’s pretty frustrated.
